Emily Fascilla is a writer, fundraiser, and advocate who believes the pursuit communal growth is how we change the world.

Raised in Boise, Idaho, where her nonprofit career began, Emily has been fundraising since 2013 and has raised over $20M for direct service organizations, including Safe Horizon and Pencils of Promise. Emily has been based in New York City for the past 10 years, she now serves as the VP of Nonprofit Strategy at The Giving Block, where she has advised thousands of nonprofits around the globe.

Her years on the front lines of domestic violence, mental health, and education work taught her how money, work, and relationships shape our ability to thrive. Those are the subjects she writes about here.

Her commitment to justice runs through her writing, too. In 2018, Emily launched Accountable Allyship, a newsletter on racial justice that held her and her white peers accountable for the ways they uphold white supremacy and strive to dismantle this system. In 2017, she was the youngest recipient of IBR’s Accomplished Under 40 award for her excellence in her field.
